Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Bristol
Old Children's Hospital, St Micheals Hill, Bristol.
Visited on quite a few occasions, some during the day and some at night. 'The Bristol Hospital for Sick Children and Women', was established in 1866. It was built at the top of St Michael's Hill, had 102 beds and was supported entirely by voluntary contributions. It was later known as 'The Children's Hospital'. A brand new 'Royal Hospital for Children' opened further down the road on 22nd April 2001. A fleet of ambulances started to ferry the patients from the old victorian building on St Michael's Hill to the new location. Since then, the building has been used by various groups, including the Children of the 90's. The entire building has now been demolished, with the exception of the old Victorian facade, because it is Grade II listed.
